No link between video games and aggression

Many people may believe that playing violent video games may cause aggression. However I do not agree with that belief. I think an individual realizes that these are just games and not things that are realistic. Video games can actually teach many skills to children such as problem solving,perseverance,quick thinking,and increasing memory.

Games are rated by age, so you should play games that are made for your age group. According to a study by the university of Illinois there is no direct link between playing video games and becoming aggressive. Playing video games may actually help you release your aggression and frustration. Instead of fighting for real,you can just take out your anger in playing a fighting game. Besides, people play these games for fun and are free to stop whenever they want.

If video games were causing such an increase in aggression, I think there would be an increase in violent crimes. There is no proof to show that crime has increased because of any video games. video games are an entertainment and it's always good against evil, with most people wanting to be the good guy. Video games are no more violent than many cartoons that people have been watching for years. We see Bugs bunny blowing up Daffy duck all the time. As you watch these shows you know it's not real, it's the same as video games, you know it's not real.

There are many people looking to blame video games for aggression but I think they are just saying that because they don't like what the games are showing. They think that it's bad for kids and just looking for an excuse to get rid of them. Parents are the ones buying these games and if their kids were acting violent or aggressive I think the sales of video games would have gone down.

In my opinion I have not seen any proof of children becoming more aggressive because video games. Think some children are naturally aggressive and they are the ones making people think that video games are the reason.
